A Dangerous Pet
This week due to COVID-19 our school has been closed. We have been assigned with work to do from home, one of which is writing. We used pobble to write a Narrative, Poetry, or Describe A Moment In Time, using the story starter "A Dangerous Pet". Here is mine.
A Dangerous Pet
The King had known that the gift he presented to his children on their 5th birthday could put the kingdom's life at risk. But he was prepared to take it. The risk of letting them own a pet dragon, however. One day, the twins would rule the kingdom together, and they would need all the help they could get. No one could deny that a dragon was a very powerful beast! But the king didn’t tell his children one thing about the dragon.
The dragon wore intense scales that illuminated in the sunlight. It had stonelike horns, covered in tough bumps. Its feet were mountainous, and its eyes were radiant balls of fire.
Before that day, the children had much work to do. They had to train their new pet dragon!
After days of teaching “flame” to wait, fly and flip, he finally got it. They would spare every moment to play with flame. Years past bye. The five year old twins were now much older. The clueless teenagers didn’t know that their kingdom was soon under attack.
It was all an ordinary day for the town. Although they thought. One of the kings was writing in the library and the other was down in the weapon shed. The ground shook, like there were huge footsteps. Then a massive BANG . The town was full of screams. Both of the kings jumped from their seats. One king grabbed the weapon sitting right next to them. They rushed to the front of the castle to see the enemy township busting down the gate. “We want our dragon back!” they chanted. The two kings were confused. “We want our dragon back!” “We want our dragon back!” over and over again. They finally knocked down the gate, and charged through the kingdom. The sound of screams, explosions and… FLAME!
The dragon soured over the kingdom. Fire raged out of its mouth. “Wow didn't know he did that'' said one king surprised. They still didn’t know what the enemy meant by “We want our dragon back!”. Then a lightbulb went off. “How did our father get the dragon in the first place!?” wondered one king. “And why are they chanting that”. “Our father didn’t “get” the dragon he stole it!”. They sprinted down to the gate to finally settle this rumble.
